Frustrating characters, mainly Andrea . I’ve never read a book with so many unfinished sentences. The basic premise of the book was good and could’ve been a really interesting and fascinating read but the characters never quite grew with the story.

Not one of my favorites

I have devoured all of Karin Slaughter’s books, but must say that “Pieces of Her” is the least recommended of all of them. Too repetitive, jumps around too much, and not much character development . . in my opinion. Extremely tiresome plot. I do believe that if the book had stuck to the original timeline and character development, the reader interest would have risen dramatically. Don’t think the Netflix series will be worth watching.

The plot and prose are intriguing and good respectively. However the pace suffers from too much repetition. This is too bad since the novel’s start is so stunning and fast-paced. The “push-pull” of the protagonist’s relationship between her and her deranged boyfriend is repetitive and the novel suffers accordingly. I do feel however it will make a great series on Netflix.

I’m sorry I paid full price for this book. The first half or more was very confusing. It skipped back and forth in time (which I’m really not a fan of) plus there were 2 Laura’s, 2 Andy’s and trying to figure out who was who...? This is definitely not my favorite by this author. It’s the first time I’ve been disappointed in anything I’ve read by her. I doubt I’ll buy another stand alone book by her.

I did enjoy this book! Would recommend. I would have given it 5 stars, but I had some problems with a few of the characters. Had trouble fully engaging with a main character. That being said, no one can spin a story like Ms. Slaughter! No one can do “broken” and marginalized like the author either.

It skipped back and forth in time (which I’m really not a fan of) plus there were 2 Laura’s, 2 Andy’s and trying to figure out who was who...? This is definitely not my favorite by this author. It’s the first time I’ve been disappointed in anything I’ve read by her. I doubt I’ll buy another stand alone book by her.

I did enjoy this book! Would recommend. I would have given it 5 stars, but I had some problems with a few of the characters. Had trouble fully engaging with a main character. That being said, no one can spin a story like Ms. Slaughter! No one can do “broken” and marginalized like the author either.

Frustrating characters, mainly Andrea . I’ve never read a book with so many unfinished sentences. The basic premise of the book was good and could’ve been a really interesting and fascinating read but the characters never quite grew with the story.

Not one of my favorites

I have devoured all of Karin Slaughter’s books, but must say that “Pieces of Her” is the least recommended of all of them. Too repetitive, jumps around too much, and not much character development . . in my opinion. Extremely tiresome plot. I do believe that if the book had stuck to the original timeline and character development, the reader interest would have risen dramatically. Don’t think the Netflix series will be worth watching.

The plot and prose are intriguing and good respectively. However the pace suffers from too much repetition. This is too bad since the novel’s start is so stunning and fast-paced. The “push-pull” of the protagonist’s relationship between her and her deranged boyfriend is repetitive and the novel suffers accordingly. I do feel however it will make a great series on Netflix.
